Human Factors – Introduction

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.9.4″ _module_preset=”87cc2148-c6f4-4f1b-8609-d757a882564c” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]The term Human Factors is a collective term for psychological, cognitive and social influencing factors that act between human and technical system components. The focus is on human performance with all its capabilities and limitations (Human Limitations), which have an impact on action in the relationship between man and man and man and machine.[/et_pb_text][et_pb_divider show_divider=”off” _builder_version=”4.9.4″ _module_preset=”e1fbf107-ca39-4ee4-b671-ebf4d2633462″ global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][/et_pb_divider][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.9.4″ _module_preset=”7c0ad95c-dcf2-4930-9631-952e4eeba957″ global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]In civil aviation, structured discussion of human factors began as early as the early 1970s. Nevertheless, it took a few serious aircraft accidents (e.g. the Tenerife crash of two fully occupied jumbo jets in 1977) to draw widespread conclusions from the knowledge already available (human errors). Since the 1980s, periodic human factors training has been a legal standard in aviation worldwide. This applies not only to pilots and cabin crew, but also to air traffic controllers, development engineers, and manufacturing and maintenance personnel.

Aviation can thus look back on more than 30 years of practical experience in the field of human factors management. During this time, not only have the methods and tools for controlling human factors been continuously improved. Special features with regard to target group and company-specific requirements were also identified. This success is reflected in figures. Currently, there are about three serious accidents for every million flights worldwide. In industrialized countries, the rate is significantly lower again. The application of Human Factors training and work concepts contributes to aviation’s success today as a high performance organization and is perceived as such by the public. No other industry can boast lower error rates.[/et_pb_text][et_pb_divider show_divider=”off” _builder_version=”4.9.4″ _module_preset=”e1fbf107-ca39-4ee4-b671-ebf4d2633462″ global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][/et_pb_divider][et_pb_cta title=”Do you already know our Human Factors E-Learning?” button_url=”https://aeroimpulse.de/en/human-factors-training-online-2/” button_text=”Watch the Demo here” _builder_version=”4.14.7″ _module_preset=”e6a8d780-b3fa-4e0a-a667-290a08afb31f” global_colors_info=”{%22gcid-7017af99-804f-4997-adc0-e93f5909dcff%22:%91%22background_color%22,%22button_text_color__hover%22%93,%22gcid-a4d4b690-c5d0-4305-acd7-d33639818f8a%22:%91%22button_text_color%22,%22button_bg_color__hover%22,%22button_border_color__hover%22%93,%22gcid-fe81fea7-9791-4cbb-8f14-ab23dab8ad8d%22:%91%22button_bg_color%22%93}” button_text_color__hover=”#151d45″ button_bg_color__hover=”#ffffff” button_border_color__hover=”#ffffff” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]""
